KIGALI, Rwanda – May 19, 2026 – Rwanda successfully hosted the AI for Business Summit & Exhibition Rwanda 2026, a major national event designed to accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the country’s private sector while strengthening international technology collaboration.
The summit brought together a diverse group of stakeholders including business leaders, government institutions, development partners, universities, investors, startups, innovation hubs, and international AI experts from Rwanda, Pakistan, and other countries. Participants gathered to explore how AI can transform business productivity, competitiveness, and innovation.

The event was organized through a collaboration between the Private Sector Federation Rwanda, the High Commission of Pakistan in Rwanda, and Big Data Factory Merit.
Held in line with Rwanda’s broader digital transformation agenda under Vision 2050 and NST2, the summit emphasized the increasing importance of AI in modern business operations, customer engagement, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, and data analytics.
During the opening session, organizers highlighted Rwanda’s significant progress in digital transformation while stressing the urgent need to help Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) understand and adopt practical AI solutions that can improve efficiency and competitiveness.

The summit featured high-level keynote presentations on the future of AI in business, CEO roundtable discussions on AI-driven competitiveness, and international insights into Pakistan’s growing AI ecosystem and outsourcing opportunities. Businesses and startups also participated in hands-on AI workshops and a practical AI tools exhibition led by Big Data Factory Merit.
Participants explored a broad range of AI technologies, including AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. Demonstrations also included AI-powered video and animation platforms like KlingAI, HeyGen, and InVideo, alongside AI image generation systems, voice technologies, and productivity automation tools.
One of the summit’s major highlights was the presentation of real AI projects already being implemented in Rwanda. These showcased how businesses can use AI to automate workflows, reduce operational costs, improve efficiency, and create new revenue opportunities.
The Private Sector Federation Rwanda reaffirmed its commitment to supporting innovation and digital capacity building for Rwandan businesses. Meanwhile, the High Commission of Pakistan in Rwanda emphasized the growing opportunities for Rwanda–Pakistan cooperation in technology, software development, innovation, and outsourcing.

Several key outcomes emerged from the summit, including exposure of more than 100 businesses to practical AI applications, growing interest from SMEs in post-summit AI training programs, and the initiation of new institutional and business partnerships. Discussions also began on establishing the AI for Business Summit as an annual event in Rwanda.
The summit concluded with a shared commitment among stakeholders to continue strengthening Rwanda’s AI ecosystem through training, innovation partnerships, and sustained collaboration between the public sector, private sector, and international partners.
Organizers noted that the event marks an important milestone in positioning Rwanda as a regional hub for AI-driven business innovation in Africa.
