ChangeNOW 2026 in Paris: Where Belief Turns into Action for a Sustainable Future

As the curtains fell on ChangeNOW 2026, the atmosphere was anything but somber. The closing ceremony felt less like an ending and more like a powerful pause one filled with gratitude, emotion, and a renewed sense of purpose after three days of intense exchanges on the world’s most pressing challenges.

Taking the stage, co-founder Rosemary Beckett set the tone with honesty and emotion. Her voice, worn from days of conversations and commitments, reflected the energy that had defined the summit. She described the moment as “a closing ceremony for the heart and the voice,” capturing both the exhaustion and inspiration shared across the audience.

What stood out most this year was the diversity and vibrancy of the gathering. From young people to entrepreneurs and participants from a wide range of backgrounds, ChangeNOW 2026 brought together an inclusive and dynamic community. It was, as Beckett described it, “a big party to save the planet”; a space where ideas met action, and where optimism was not just expressed, but actively built.

The summit also appeared to attract high-level figures engaged in environmental action, including representatives from major institutions, reflecting the growing importance of collaboration across sectors to address climate and social challenges.

Among the many highlights, a brief but deeply moving testimony came from Olivier Goy, an entrepreneur living with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neuron disease (MND) or Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Speaking through an AI-generated voice, Olivier delivered a powerful message about urgency and presence: “Now is a certainty. Later is a hypothesis.”

In a summit focused on long-term global issues such as climate change, his words served as a striking reminder that action cannot be postponed. His intervention grounded the broader discussions in something deeply human-time, fragility, and the responsibility to act while we can.

Beyond these emotional moments, the closing ceremony emphasized continuity. ChangeNOW is not designed as a standalone event, but as a starting point. Participants were encouraged to extend the conversations, develop partnerships, and transform ideas into tangible solutions. As Beckett reminded the audience, “This is just a starting point… continue the conversations, because this is how we create change.”

This forward-looking perspective was reinforced in a short interview conducted just after the ceremony with co-founder Santiago Lefebvre. When asked about the message he wanted to share with the world, his response highlighted a central conviction behind the summit:

“Change can happen as long as there is just one person to believe in it and we are millions, if not billions, to believe it’s possible. So change, for sure, is on its way.”

In the context of environmental urgency, this belief takes on a particular meaning. It reflects a shift from awareness to collective momentum where individual conviction evolves into coordinated action across communities, organizations, and borders.

Reflecting on ChangeNOW 2026 itself, he added: “Yes, I think we met our expectations… a lot of great stories have happened here.” While a detailed impact report is expected in the coming weeks, these “stories” already point to what defines the summit: connections made, initiatives launched, and collaborations sparked.

The ceremony also paid tribute to the collective effort behind the event. Hundreds of volunteers, alongside teams, partners, and contributors, helped bring the summit to life highlighting once again that large-scale change depends on collective engagement at every level.

Looking ahead, anticipation is already building. The next edition, marking the 10th anniversary of ChangeNOW, will take place from April 26 to 28, 2027 at Grand Palais in Paris. A milestone that is expected to further amplify the platform’s role in accelerating solutions for environmental and social transitions.

As the final applause echoed through the venue, one message stood out: beyond speeches and announcements, ChangeNOW 2026 reaffirmed a simple but powerful idea-when people come together with purpose, belief becomes action, and action becomes change.
