World Culinary Awards: Mezzaluna Wins World’s Best Restaurant, Filini Leads in Rwanda: Other Winners

The World Culinary Awards, a global initiative dedicated to honoring excellence in the culinary industry, has unveiled the winners of its 2024 program during a dazzling dinner reception held on 2nd October 2024, at Summersalt Jumeirah Al Naseem in Dubai, UAE.

Recognized for its diverse and tantalizing culinary offerings, Dubai was awarded both the ‘World’s Best Culinary Destination’ and ‘Middle East’s Best Culinary Destination’.

Italy secured the title of ‘Europe’s Best Culinary Destination’, while Peru earned the distinction of ‘Latin America’s Best Culinary Destination’.

South Africa was recognized as ‘Africa’s Best Culinary Destination’, Jamaica triumphed as the ‘Caribbean’s Best Culinary Destination’, and Thailand was celebrated as ‘Asia’s Best Culinary Destination’.

MezzaLuna, situated on the 65th floor of the lebua Hotel Bangkok, was named ‘World’s Best Restaurant’ for its exceptional fusion of premium Japanese ingredients and classic French cooking techniques.

Dubai’s vibrant dining scene received accolades as well, with Atlantis the Royal achieving dual honors: ‘World’s Best Hotel for Brunch’ and ‘World’s Best Hotel Restaurant’, awarded to Ariana’s Persian Kitchen @ Atlantis the Royal. Additionally, Ossiano Restaurant @ Atlantis the Palm earned the title of ‘World’s Best Culinary Experience’.

The awards result from a comprehensive year-long search for the world’s leading culinary brands, with votes cast by professionals in the travel industry and the public, culminating in the nominee with the most votes being declared the winner.

Rina van Staden, Director of the World Culinary Awards, remarked, “Our winners are the visionaries whose creativity and craftsmanship bring joy to millions daily. Their dedication, commitment, and passion for the culinary arts inspire us all. Congratulations to each of them!”

Other notable winners include Nobu as the ‘World’s Best Restaurant Brand’; Rockfish, Dubai, awarded ‘World’s Best Mediterranean Cuisine Restaurant’; Saigontourist Group Culinary Culture, Delicacies Festival, recognized as both ‘World’s Best Culinary Festival’ and ‘Asia’s Best Culinary Festival’; Gourmet on Tour, named ‘World’s Best Culinary Tour Operator’; Su Va Na, Phuket, as the ‘World’s Best Underwater Restaurant’; Sirocco, recognized as the ‘World’s Best Rooftop Restaurant’; and Pierchic @ Jumeirah Al Qasr, winning ‘World’s Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant’.

Filini Restaurant at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, Kigali won Rwanda’s Best Hotel Restaurant.

The nominees for this category included:

– Cucina at the Kigali Marriott Hotel
– La Vue Restaurant at Mantis Kivu Marina Bay Hotel
– Le Panorama Restaurant at Hotel des Mille Collines
– Milima Restaurant at Kigali Serena Hotel
– Shere Sardar at The Manor Hotel.

The World Culinary Awards is the sister event to the World Travel Awards, which is currently celebrating its 31st anniversary.
