NESA to Launch PISA 2025 Awareness Campaign

The Ministry of Education, through the National Educational Testing Service (NESA), is officially launching a PISA 2025 awareness campaign. The campaign will run from March 17 to April 6 and will continue from April 15 to April 26, 2025.

The campaign aims to inform all education stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, and school principals, about the international assessment that will be conducted in Rwanda from April 27 to June 7, 2025.

The focus will be on promoting PISA, its importance in providing a picture of the country’s education system, and its role in benchmarking the level of knowledge of students from Rwanda and other countries.

The launch ceremony of this campaign will be held at ES KANOMBE/EFOTEC on Monday, March 17, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM (14:00).

The PISA assessment aims to measure students’ ability to apply their knowledge in everyday life, taking into account their thinking and problem-solving skills.

PISA is an international assessment involving more than 80 countries, officially launched by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 1997. It was first conducted in 2000 with 15-year-old students.

PISA is currently conducted every three years, where students take reading, mathematics, and science tests. This is the first time Rwanda will participate in this assessment.
