Enroll Now Before 31 December 2025: International German Language Exams Launch in Rwanda

Rwanda will host the European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages (ECL) German exams locally for the first time, offering learners an internationally recognised language qualification without the need to travel abroad.

Free preparatory training courses at Der Sprachen Hub / German Language Academy will be available to learners who register before 31 December 2025, providing support to help candidates prepare effectively for the exams.

The ECL examination is an established global standard for testing proficiency in foreign languages. It assesses four key language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking; and aligns with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), a benchmark widely used by educational institutions and employers worldwide.

Local Access to International Certification

Candidates will be able to take the ECL German exams in Rwanda in February 2026, marking a significant milestone in expanding access to international language certification.

The exams are designed to evaluate practical language ability and offer certification at multiple levels, from intermediate to advanced, depending on the candidate’s proficiency.

The certification is recognised internationally and can support applications for university admission, professional opportunities and visa requirements in German-speaking countries and beyond.

Free Preparatory Training for Early Enrollees

As part of the launch, learners who complete their registration before 31 December 2025 will be eligible for free preparatory training courses, provided by Der Sprachen Hub / German Language Academy. These courses aim to enhance candidates’ understanding of the exam structure and strengthen the language skills needed to succeed.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to register early to secure access to these preparatory sessions.
